about

"One of the best bands in the country. With a sound somewhere between early Heartbreakers and late Minutemen, delivered with casual confidence… The men were absolutely electrifying." --Brett Campbell, Austin Chronicle

“this is a solid chunk of straight-ahead roots rock.. not hard core and not bluegrass, the record often sounds like a Hearland version of the Blasters; Three Star..” -- Michael MacCambridge, Austin American Statesman

The Highwaymen Austin, Texas

A few years back (1989) Troy and Mike Campbell, feeling restless and musically frustrated living up in Dayton, Ohio caught the True Believers when they came to town. The brothers met Alejandro Escovedo, who told them, "Form a Band, and next time we come through Austin you can open for us." The brothers took Al seriously and put together the Highwaymen. They went on to become Loose Diamonds. ... more
